Judge Silberman is a graduate of Wesleyan University and received both his JD and MA from the University of Southern California. Following graduation, Judge Silberman became the first staff attorney hired by AIDS Project Los Angeles during the height of the AIDS pandemic. He then spent a number of years at a private firm and then went back to public interest work as the supervising family law/domestic violence attorney for Neighborhood Legal Services. He took the bench in 2004 and has spent his entire judicial career as a family law bench officer, first in downtown and more recently in Pasadena. Judge Silberman sits on the board of the California Chapter of AFCC.
