Joanne Brown
Joanne is a retired Superior Court Commissioner and criminal defense lawyer. She is an expert in child welfare law and policy and is a national consultant to state and local government in the areas of criminal and juvenile justice. She is an instructor for UC Davis, Center for Human Services and is the President of the Board of the Life Learning Academy (LLA), a charter school and academy for at risk and homeless teenagers at Treasure Island. She has been a member of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women since 2016 and was a member of the first Community Advisory Council of the Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Oversight (IOLERO). She is a member of the KSVY Board of Directors, the Amicus Law Library Nonprofit, and the local Soroptimists . Joanne graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where she received her BA, MSW, and JD.
