Kaveri Subrahmanyam

Kaveri Subrahmanyam, Ph.D., is Chair, Department of Child & Family Studies at California State University, Los Angeles and Associate Director of the Children’s Digital Media Center @ Los Angeles (UCLA/CSULA).  Dr. Subrahmanyam is a nationally-recognized expert on the cognitive and social implications of interactive media use.  Currently her research is examining the relation between adolescents’ digital interactions and well-being (e.g., sleep and academic performance); in addition, she is studying the effect of digital screens and multitasking on learning and executive function, as well as parents’ and children’s home media use and children’s sleep, behavior problems, and language development.
