Mediation works best when we recognize that every dispute is shaped not just by the conflict at hand, but by the “me” factors each person brings into the room — their values, goals, history, and sense of self. In this interactive 90-minute webinar, Jeff Soilson, JD, and Ashleigh Louis, PhD, introduce The Me in Mediation® framework and their innovative online Two-Coach Approach® to interdisciplinary co-mediation and coaching. Together, they will explore how value alignment enhances both professional wellness and client-centered outcomes, helping participants develop practical strategies for managing high-conflict family systems, fostering sustainable agreements, and reducing the win-lose mentality that derails resolution.
By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
1. Understand “Me” Factors in Mediation
-Recognize how values, goals, and internal dynamics influence both clients’ and professionals’ experiences of mediation.
2. Differentiate Goals and Values in Family Conflict
-Apply practical metaphors to distinguish between goals and values, and examine how “values violations” can undermine durable agreements.
3. Apply Client-Centered Strategies
-Practice framing open-ended questions that uncover deeper needs, empower client voices, and move participants away from a win-lose mindset toward value-aligned agreements.
4. Explore Interdisciplinary Co-Mediation
-Examine how the Two-Coach Approach® blends psychology and law to support clients in high-conflict family systems and strengthen outcomes.
5. Enhance Professional Resilience
-Reflect on the professional’s own “me” factors, including self-care and value alignment, and identify practices that reduce burnout and sustain long-term effectiveness.
