The Assembly and Senate Judiciary Committees of the California State Legislature are hosting a Joint Informational Hearing on “Covid and the Courts:  Assessing the Impact on Access to Justice, Identifying Best Practices, and Plotting the Path Forward”.

The hearing, which is being hosted by Assemblymember Mark Stone, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Judiciary, and Senator Tom Umberg, Chair of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, will include remarks from the Hon. Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of California and four panels of speakers from various sections of the court system, including from family law, legal aid, the Judicial Council, court reporters, defense counsel and others.  Immediate Past President of AFCC-CA, Michele B. Brown, will be on the panel discussing the impact on the family law courts.

The Joint Informational Hearing will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. in the State Capitol, Room 4202.  If you have questions for the Q&A period, you may provide them in writing in advance to https://ajud.assembly.ca.gov/.
