Jaclyn Nelson
Jaclyn Nelson, an attorney with the Law Office of Angela Pierce di Donato, practices exclusively juvenile dependency law, representing parents accused of abuse or neglect within the child welfare system. She began at Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers in 2016 starting as a staff attorney with a case load of over 250 clients, representing indigent parents as court appointed counsel. She was quickly promoted to a Senior Attorney within the organization, where she supervised over 25 attorneys within her firm, was responsible for training and continuing legal education, and carried a small case load of her firm’s most high conflict, complex cases. She regularly trains and presents in both the Monterey Park and Lancaster courthouses on the topics of effective trial advocacy and persuasion techniques. Jaclyn has appeared in every court room in Los Angele’s juvenile dependency system. Now in private practice, Jaclyn has a reputation of being amongst the county’s most aggressive defenders of parents’ rights, while maintaining an ability to reach pragmatic solutions for the child welfare system’s most complex and difficult issues.
